5 Quick Water Saving Tips: - Plant placement is important. Remember to put the right plant in the right place.
- Consider water consumption when selecting plants, some plants use more water than others. Consult a gardening book or local nursery before you plant.
- Use mulches such as bark compost to help planting beds retain moisture.
- Aerate to reduce dead leaf buildup in the Spring or Fall to prevent it from restricting penetration of water, air, and nutrients into the ground.
- Consider alternate landscaping practices, like Xeriscape, in your lawn choices. Reduce turf area or use ground covers and mulches instead of turf.
